New Magical Experiences Announced for Walt Disney World Including Mermaid & Pirate Activities
While the four parks are the main draw to visit Walt Disney World, there are more and more actives and events held outside the parks to enhance your vacation. Today, Disney has just announced even more magical experiences that will not require a park admission! Check then out below:
Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew Adventure at Disney’s Beach Club Resort
Ahoy, mateys! There’s a new kids only experience coming to Disney’s Beach Club Resort! Captain Hook’s Pirate Crew Adventure is for children ages 4 to 12 and will teach your little crew members pirate ways while following clues that lead to hidden treasure and being officially names to Captain Cook’s Pirate Crew!
Young bucs will receive a set of clues to then explore the resort by land and by sea on a pontoon boat around Crescent Lake. After the booty is recovered, the new pirates will dine on selections such as Cannon Meatballs with marinara or macaroni and “gold” sauce for entrees, along with a treasure chest treat or fruit for dessert.
The cost is just $55 plus tax per child. This is a great way for the kids t have a night of fun while parents enjoy a night of fun on their own at Walt Disney World. To make reservations, contact your Travel Agent or Disney directly at 407-824-KIDS. Adventures will begin on April 28!
Mermaid School
Yes, you read that right! You and your little one can now become a mermaid at Walt Disney World and join Ariel’s world! This new experience offered at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, invites Guests 4 and over to take part in an hour long class where they are led through activities teaching them how to swim like a mermaid. Before taking your lesson, you will even be fitted for a swimmable “tail!”
The cost is just $50 per person plus tax. Booking will open within the next week and reservations can be made by contacting your Travel Agent or calling 407-WDW-PLAY.
Cabanas at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
Looking for a relaxing day at the pool? Then make sure to book your next Walt Disney World vacation at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts as Guests staying at these resorts will have exclusive access to either half day or full day rentals of exclusive cabanas. Your cabana rental reservation includes the following:
- Padded furniture (chairs and couch)
- Dedicated Disney cast member service
- Cocktail service
- Mounted television with cable access
- Complimentary sunscreen and other skincare products
- Mini-refrigerator stocked with complimentary soda and water
- Complimentary fruit tray

Art Programs at Walt Disney World

- Wild About Painting, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
- Painting on de’ Bayou (adults), Painting by the Lagoon (kids), Disney’s Port Orleans – French Quarter Resort. NOTE: children’s painting class is $30 per person (plus tax); designed for ages 6 and older; accompanying parent required.
- Painting in the Vineyard, Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts
- Canvas and Wine Glass Painting on the Boards, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn

Fishing Excursions at Walt Disney World
If reeling in a big catch is more your speed, then participating in a guided excursion or dockside fishing is a must do during your next Walt Disney World vacation!
Guests can choose from fishing excursions for up to five people aboard a 21-foot SunTracker pontoon or a tournament-style NITRO bass-fishing boat for one or two Guests. Each outing is available for two or four hours and are “catch and release.” Recently, a NITRO ZV21 has also joined the fleet and operates out of the Magic Kingdom marinas.
