Video: See How Disney Is Caring For It’s Newest Baby Giraffe
The savanna of Kilimanjaro Safari at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was buzzing with the excitement of a new baby giraffe nearly two months ago! The male Masai giraffe calf made headlines as a few lucky guests got to see his entrance into the world before the Animal Care Team whisked he and mom away to their tranquil barn for some much needed rest. Since then, the calf has been learning and growing very quickly. He now stands at seven feet tall!
The Animal Care Team reports that he is very close to his mom, Mara as well as the rest of the herd in the backstage area. He will be ready to hit center stage (the savanna that is) within the next month.
Caring For Disney Animals
While we wait for his appearance on the Kilimanjaro Safari, Disney has been documenting all of those greats moments for us. They recently introduced a video series titled “Caring for Disney Animals” on the Disney’s Animals, Science and Environment Facebook page. The expert keepers have let us in on the little guy’s diet in this series. Let’s take a look at all of the cuteness!
