7 Reasons Why We Love The Seas With Nemo and Friends
Kids of all ages will enjoy going under the sea to meet the whole gang from the film “Finding Nemo” at The Seas With Nemo & Friends located in Future World at Epcot. As a matter of fact, we here at MickeyBlog love The Seas Pavilion at Epcot so much that we definitely think its worth spending at least an hour of your Epcot visit exploring all that it has to offer. With that in mind, we compiled a list of some of our favorite things to check out during your underwater adventure.
1. The Seas With Nemo and Friends – The Ride
Adorable clam-mobiles transport you on a quest to find Nemo. You’ll journey through a vibrant coral reef and underwater mines with encounters with Nemo’s pals along the way. This attraction looks into the 5.7 million gallon aquarium and provides a seamless mingling of key elements from the “Finding Nemo” films with a closer look at some of the amazing creatures that call The Seas home.
2. Turtle Talk With Crush
You’ll absolutely love this awesome live Q&A session with the famous sea turtle Crush from the “Finding Nemo” films. At the interactive Turtle Talk with Crush attraction at Epcot, kids can ask any question that is on their mind. And since it is live, the show is different every time – which means that your kids will want to visit over and over again! Crush will also be joined by some of his friends from the films, like Marlin, Nemo, Dory and more.
3. Bruce’s Sharkworld
The first floor of the pavilion is home Bruce’s SharkWorld, a super fun play area themed around Bruce the shark and additional “Find Nemo” character. The area features interactive touch screens and a life-sized replica of the great white shark Bruce. He loves to show off his super pointy teeth with makes for the perfect photo-op.
4. Coral Reef Restaurant
A unique Epcot dining experience like no other,. The Coral Reef is a restaurant with a view as all the windows overlook the pavilion’s 5.7 million gallon aquarium. Tuck into items like Crispy Rhode Island calamari, lobster bisque or seasonal items like sauteed shrimp and grits while you watch clownfish, sharks and exotic fish swim by while you dine. For dessert, we recommend topping off your meal with The Chocolate Wave made up of warm flourless chocolate cakes, chocolate curls and raspberry gelato. Dining at the Coral Reef will set you back one table service dining credit.
5. The Aquarium
A lot of first-time visitors may not realize this but there is an entire aquarium area to be explored after you exit the Nemo ride! There are two levels to this massive exhibition with lots of viewing tanks. Here you’ll see everything from sharks and dolphins to seahorses and sea turtles!! There’s even a show taking place several times throughout the day where a diver swims down to a massive tube in the lobby area of the aquarium so that you can view them up close and learn about how they prepare for their time spent under the sea! It’s so easy to breeze right through this area and out through the gift shop but you’ll really be missing out on what we think is one of the most incredible exhibits in all of Epcot!
6. The Manatees
It took my family several visits to the Seas Pavilion before we realized that nestled up on the second floor of the main aquarium is a magical experience allowing you to get up close and personal with two wonderful Manatees. The Seas with Nemo & Friends at Epcot is a designated rehabilitation site for rescued manatees (and sea turtles too) until they are well enough to be returned to their habitats The Seas participates with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and other facilities and conservation groups, in the Manatee Rehabilitation Partnership. Rescued manatees making their home at The Seas are often play and will show you some of their incredible swimming moves during feeding time.
7. The Dolphins In Depth Tour
Who doesn’t want to swim with dolphins and at Epcot it’s possible. During a 3-hour Epcot experience that wraps up with a once-in-a-lifetime photo op and a souvenir, Guests will talk to expert dolphin trainers and researchers who extensively with the bottlenose dolphins that call the aquarium home.
