Tangaroa Terrace Re-Opens at Disneyland Resort With Tropical Eats and Treats
A beloved mainstay for Disneyland regulars, Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill has officially re-opened at the Disneyland Hotel at Disneyland Resort. This fast-casual restaurant has been undergoing an extensive refurbishment and now features an updated tropical look, an expanded menu and a delicious array of tiki cocktails, made to order dishes amd evem Dole Whips!
As you can see from the image above, Tangaroa draws its inspiration from Walt’s Enchanted Tiki Room at the neighboring Disneyland theme park. This island paradise really brings the vacation vibes and combines traditional motifs from Hawaii, Fiji, Sumatra, Tahiti, New Guinea and more! Some of the highlights include a colorful tropical mural with “hidden” tiki room birds, bamboo accents, rattan chairs, tiki bar stools, exotic stone countertops and glass fish net floating lights. The restaurant also boasts open-air views of the outside pool area which really brings the sunshine and enhances the tropical island vibes.
If you’re planning a visit to Tangaroa Terrance be sure to bring your appetite! You’ll find a wide array of freshly prepared hot and cold dishes. Breakfast is served until 11 am each morning with delicious options including the classic Breakfast Platter with scrambled eggs, bacon and hashbrowns. You can also opt for the Breakfast Sandwich with kālua-style pulled pork, fried egg, hash browns, and gravy.
Those with a sweet tooth will want to try breakfast items like the Açai Chia Breakfast Bowl with seasonal fruit and granola or the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes. You’ll also find Tangaroa Toast on the menu. Similar to Disney’s World’s Tonga Toast this breakfast treat comes coated in cinnamon sugar and is topped with bananas, and toasted coconut!
Tangaroa is also open for both lunch and dinner and features an eclectic range of sharable options including dishes like Kālua-style Poutine (crispy crinkle fries topped with pork, cheese curds, gravy, pickled onions, and Fresno chiles) and the Pu Pu Platter which comes with Chili-Garlic Edamame, Pork Gyoza (pork and vegetable pot stickers), Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Wings, and Panko-crusted Long Beans served with togarashi aïoli. All four of the items in the platter can also be ordered individually. Nachos lovers won’t want to miss an opportunity to try the Shipwreck Nachos which are topped with kālua-style pulled pork, pineapple salsa, hoisin sauce, togarashi aïoli, and barbecue sauce.
Other menu highlights include a Lentil Garden Bowl with brown rice, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and onions tossed in coconut curry. There’s also the Tangaroa Salad with sautéed shrimp. For burger lovers try the Angus 1/3 lb. Hawaiian Cheeseburger which is served with grilled pineapple, Applewood-smoked bacon, Havarti cheese, togarashi aïoli, and teriyaki sauce.
And of course, you can’t go wrong with the Chili-Garlic Edamame featuring young soybeans steamed and tossed with chilli-garlic sauce. The Fried Spam Musubi is also a must-try item and is served with teriyaki sauce!
Be sure to bring the little ones as you’ll also find a tasty kids menu offering smaller-portioned versions of many of the tropical bites listed above. For breakfast, kids can enjoy the Kid’s Pineapple Upside-Down Pancake and Mickey-shaped Tangaroa Toast! For lunch and dinner, kids can tuck into yummy Grilled Salmon Bowl, a Kid’s Cheeseburger, and the ever-so-popular and tasty Chicken Breast Nuggets.
The restaurant also offers a new marketplace area where you can grab on-the-go pastries and snacks, speciality coffees, pineapple Dole Whip soft serve, Dole Whip floats and Dole Whip floats with a splash of rum. You’ll also find am awesome drinks menu filled with island cocktails.
