Enjoy The Holidays At Downtown Disney At Disneyland Resort
It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Disneyland Resort! If you are heading to the Downtown Disney District this holiday season, be sure to bring your appetite, as well as your shopping list. They have you covered on the festive seasonal décor and entertainment while you check out the incredible shopping and eats! There really is no better place to be.
Seasonal Décor
Once you get to Downtown Disney, you’ll find it’s been magically transformed into a Christmas wonderland! Did you know that you can find 6,200 ornaments there? How incredible! 800 ornaments cover the 30′ Christmas tree by the Uva Bar. Then 900 ornaments can be found in each of six planters. These planters feature more than 50 types of flowers and ferns!
Sweet Treats
My favorite part of the holiday season may just be all of the delicious foods that are available! Downtown Disney has everything you can imagine for Holly Jolly treats while you shop. Take a look at some of these favorites:
- California Churro – The White Christmas Churro coated in powdered sugar with a minty flavor is a favorite!
- Cotton Candy Creations – Enjoy seasonal Peppermint, Candy Apple and Hot Chocolate cotton candy buckets.
- Earl of Sandwich – In addition to the popular Holiday Sandwich, enjoy the Holiday Ham-Ham with Cheddar, Yams and Cranberry Sandwich.
- Kayla’s Cake – Christmas Snowman and Gingerbread Macarons are delicious and adorable.
- Salt & Straw – Savor a scoop or pint of seasonal flavors like Gingerbread Cookie Dough, Peppermint Bark Mocha and Cinnamon Coconut Eggnog.
- Starbucks – Try the Sugar Plum Cheese Danish, a Caramel Brulée Latte or pick up a pound of the Christmas Blend Espresso Roast. A second store location is coming soon to the Downtown Disney District, across from the Disneyland Monorail station.
- Wetzel’s Pretzels – Cin-A-Bitz with Sweet Glaze are sugar, spice and very, very nice.
Entertainment
Christmas is just not the same without some festive holiday music, right? And I’m not just talking about on the radio. I love seeing live Christmas performances and Downtown Disney has tons to keep you entertained! Strolling through the District, you can find a capella carolers, Holiday Harmony (complete in their “ugly” holiday sweaters), as well as magicians and tons of other talented artists. These performances happen every night leading up to Christmas so you have plenty of chances to check them all out!
Shopping
Bring those holiday shopping lists when you visit Downtown Disney! You can be sure that you’ll find something for everyone on there, including those ‘hard to shop for’ friends and family members. Here is a list of great places to find the perfect gifts:
- World of Disney – A must-visit for Disney fans is the newly reimagined, the 40,000 square-foot store was redesigned to make shopping even easier and more entertaining with touches of pixie dust in the displays. Be sure to check out the new Disney Parks Holiday Collection.
- Ice-Land Workshop – Check out this spot near near The LEGO Store. For a limited time, pick out personalized holiday ornaments — a great gift idea.
- PANDORA Jewelry – Limited-edition jewelry and special offers are available for every holiday shopper throughout the season.
- Sanuk – This spot for cozy footwear includes Puff N Chill boots and Chiba Chill shoes.
- Other favorite shops include Disney Home, The Disney Dress Shop, Sephora and Curl Surf.
The Downtown Disney District is a wonderful place to brighten your holiday season. Even if you aren’t hitting the parks, you can stroll through Downtown Disney. It’s open daily, typically till the late hours of the evening!
