Reservations for the Disneyland Resort Open Beginning Mid-July
While it’s been confirmed that some Walt Disney World Resorts will begin reopening on June 22, 2020 and the Parks will begin opening on July 11, there has still been much uncertainty when the Disneyland Resort will open. Today, Disney has updated their website to say that Guests who are interested in modifying their existing travel dates or making a new reservation for a future vacation, reservations are currently available for travel dates July 15, 2020 and later. So, it is looking like we will have a mid-July reopening if everything goes right!
The Disneyland Resort website also mentions that upon reopening, certain Disneyland Resort theme parks, hotels, restaurants, and other locations may be limited in capacity and subject to restricted availability or even closure based on guidance from health experts and government officials. Furthermore, certain attractions, experiences, services, and amenities will be modified, have limited availability or remain closed. Park admission offerings are not guaranteed.
While no official statements have been made yet in terms to new guidelines and safety protocols that will be implemented when the Disneyland Resort reopens but we can look to Walt Disney World as guidance. Upon reopening, Walt Disney World will be requiring all Guests to wear face coverings, a pre-made reservation will be required to enter the Parks through an all-new reservation system, and enhanced sanitizing procedures among others.
Last week, the state of California announced that theme parks in the state, including the Disneyland Resort, would be able to reopen Phase 2 of the state’s reopening phases. Currently, California is on Phase 2 but no word on when they will transition into Phase 3 but let’s hope it’s by July!
