Celebrating Pixar Part II – Incredibles 2
It’s Incredible how Walt Disney World’s announcement of 2018’s Incredible Summer has garnered Incredible excitement for summer. The Incredible lineup of new events like a new Guardians of the Galaxy musical show and the Incredibly popular new bird show at the Animal Kingdom have made my job of choosing which Pixar film to highlight next incredibly difficult. Before you read the rest of part II in this series, be sure you’re caught up! You can read part I right here to ensure you’re caught up! Ok, back to the present… it was an Incredible feat, I’ve settled on the next Incredible film to highlight…any guesses?
One Man’s Dream
If you guessed Toy Story…you need to practice picking up on hints. The Incredibles is another one of those Pixar heyday-era films that are (more than) alive and thriving in the parks. Take Hollywood Studios, for example. They have character meet and greets dedicated to Inside Out, Monsters, Inc, and will soon have an entire land dedicated to Andy’s toys when Toy Story Land opens next month! The supers who won our hearts with their strong family bonds with the release of The Incredibles in 2004 are making a heroic return to the silver screen this summer!
The online buzz is already through the roof for the movie, and if you’re visiting Hollywood Studios ahead of its release, you are one of the elite few who will have access to an exclusive sneak preview! One Man’s Dream is an often bypassed attraction in Hollywood Studios that certainly deserves much more recognition than it gets. I love it not only for the old cameras, animation cells, and props used by Walt himself when he was making pictures, but equally for the section dedicated solely to what’s to come in the Disney Parks. On brand with the attraction, the theatre located in One Man’s Dream is now showing the first ten minutes of the film!
Two SUPER Dance Parties
Pixar Play Zone
The newly-opened Pixar Play Zone is succeeding in giving kids one heck of a night out, away from the watchful eye of their parents. You can read all about it here, but one of the evenings’ activities is incredibly fitting for this article! Kids will have the chance to dance the night away with members of the Incredibles in a full-blown dance party as part of the event! Reservations are required for a spot in the Pixar Play Zone and should be made asap if your little superhero is itching to hang with their favorite family of supers!
Rocket Tower Stage
Hot off the press trail, the Incredibles will dance off the stress from their movie promoting tour this summer. Nightly at the Rocket Tower Stage, Mr. and Mrs. Incredible cordially invite you to boogie on over to Tomorrowland and join them for an epic dance party! While I heard Frozone wasn’t an easy sell on the party (but he’ll be there don’t worry) Edna Mode simply couldn’t keep herself out of the spotlight. She’ll be making her first-ever parks debut when she joins the Incredibles on the dance floor this summer!
Merchandise
In order to back up my original statement that Disney/Pixar films of old are still more than relevant in the parks, I had to do some shopping. On my most recent trip to Walt Disney World, I set myself the task of scouring every merchandise seller across the property to find Pixar themed memorabilia to back up my theory, and as it turned out, I didn’t have to scour at all! For your fill of Incredibles-themed merchandise, you needn’t search too hard. Mouse Gears, The Emporium, and World of Disney were more than stocked up on all things super.
Disney Springs AMC
Starting June 15, guests have a bonus chance to see the Incredibles in a way we haven’t seen them in 12 years- on the big screen! The Disney Springs AMC will be playing the film in multiple theatres at seemingly every hour of the day starting on its June 15 release date. There will be special posters and exclusive Incredibles 2 red carpet banners perfect for taking photos of your best superhero poses for Instagram. If you really want to make your outing incredible, I’ve heard the snacks at the AMC are pretty darn good for movie munching. Where will you look for the Incredibles this summer?
