VIDEO: Learn How Disney Makes Iconic Cast Member Name Tags
Receiving an official Disney name tag is a magical day for Disney cast members at all Disney destinations. Have you ever wondered how the name tag tradition got started, or how Disney makes all those name tags?
The iconic “first name only” name tags were a tradition inspired by Walt Disney himself, who wanted cast members to call each other by their first names to create a family friendly atmosphere. Pretty smart huh? Watch the video below and take a behind the scenes look at this iconic process.
The Engraving Shop at Walt Disney World creates more than 100,000 new name tags each year for cast members at theme parks, Disney Springs, Disney Cruise Line, Walt Disney Imagineering and more. That’s roughly 400 name tags a day!
