Construction Walls Go Up Around “it’s a small world” at Magic Kingdom
Those meandering down the famous (and often crowded strip) of classic Fantasyland where “it’s a small world” is located will notice some changes afoot.
The classic ride will be having a bit of work done this Autumn and with that in mind, construction walls have gone up around the attraction.
Outside of the attraction there is now a blue wall running the length of the building.
The ride is still open to guests who now queue along the outside of the wall which now has social distancing markers.
Our understanding is that the work being carried out is primarily to the facade of the building with possible adjustments being may to the way guests queue for the ride.
This is just one of several projects Disney has in the pipeline for refurbishment this Fall.
At Magic Kingdom, work continues on the TRON coaster in Tomorrowland and is expected to commence at the Main Street Bakery (AKA Starbucks) at some point this year.
In addition, work is currently being done to the entryway of the Magic Kingdom as well as to the parking entrance for the park.
These changes are to ready the park for its 50th Anniversary celebrations which will kick off in 2021.
If you were following along with us earlier today, you also know that work has also started on a large-scale refurbishment at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort which will include changes to guest rooms (which will be done in a Moana-style theming) as well as to the main ceremonial hall, porte cochere and monorail station.
