Good News for New Jersey Vacationers, Governor Has Just Lifted Stay at Home Order
Over the weekend, Walt Disney World made numerous updates to it’s website as the Resort prepares to welcome guests. Select Walt Disney World Deluxe & Deluxe Villa resorts will be opening to guests as early as June 22nd. The theme parks are slated to re-open a few weeks later with Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom opening on July 11th and Hollywood Studios and EPCOT on July 15th.
However, one of the things that now appears as a disclaimer on the Walt Disney World website was that despite being allowed to open in the state of Florida, guests planning a Disney getaway need to be mindful of the travel restrictions in your own state. For many, like those in New Jersey, this has meant no travelling with stay-at-home orders still in place.
That is until now:
BREAKING: Today I’m signing an Executive Order LIFTING OUR STAY-AT-HOME ORDER.
Please continue to be responsible and safe. Wear face coverings and keep a social distance from others when out in public.
— Governor Phil Murphy (@GovMurphy) June 9, 2020
As you can see from Governor Murray’s post above, the stay-at-home order has officially been lifted. However, the governor reminds New Jersey Residents that the use of face masks and social distancing practices are recommended.
On the positive side, it now means that Disney fans can start planning for the future! Though reservations for 2020 and beyond are still on hold while Disney upgrades its central reservation system, it does mean that New Jersey vacationers can start laying out your plans knowing that state restrictions won’t prevent you from enjoying the magic. And if you keep following along with MickeyBlog we promise to let you know as soon as reservations open back up for booking!.
Vacationing may be a go but Jersey residents will want to be aware of the limits still in effect in the state. For instance, restrictions remain in place when it comes to indoor gatherings allowing for 25% of a building’s capacity to be filled or 50 people whichever is the lower number. Outdoor gatherings can now be held for as many as 100 people, an increase from the previous limit of 25. The governor also said that he would also allow outdoor gatherings of more than 100 people for “first amendment protected activities” including protests and outdoor religious service.
