New Dining Coming Soon to Caribbean Beach
With Skyliner construction in full swing Property-wide, Galaxy’s Edge cranes ruining sightlines, new buildings going up at Coronado Springs, and the roadway leading to Magic Kingdom being widened and completely re-imagined, a drive around Walt Disney World Resort at the moment is much more stressful than it is ‘magical’.
By the time the big anniversary celebrations begin in just a few years, the place is going to look absolutely incredible- and maybe a bit unrecognizable- to new and returning guests…but we’ve still got a long wait ahead before all is said and tidied up. We have some big news regarding Caribbean Beach too!
Disney has done a fantastic job of keeping the big, juicy announcements that we’re all dying to sink our teeth into on the down low, and their strategic release of details has done nothing short of whip everyone into a fervor of excitement that I thought only the completion of the projects will quell…until this past week! Disney has just dished on the new dining experiences set to land at Caribbean Beach in the near future, and we’ve got all of the drool-worthy details for you, let’s dig in!
Centertown Market
If you’ve been to Caribbean Beach recently, you know the craziness that the massive renovation has instigated. If you haven’t a clue what I’m referencing, this example might help you: the cafeteria-style quick serve spot (my favorite spot to get Mickey waffles!) that serves as the central hub of the Resort was closed and temporarily relocated to a tent. Yep, a tent. Needless to say, the new details released this week about all-new dining experiences was a welcome reprieve, and Centertown Market’s remodel is the top story!
From the looks of the rendering, the newly-imagined space will take after that of an (indoor?) open-air street market similar to its predecessor, but this time with a whole new look. Here’s what Disney Parks Blog had to say about the new space: “You’ll enter the space under a large palapa-like structure, accented with glowing, colored light pendants made from glass bottles. The market will feature open shutters, wooden light posts, awnings, ornamentation and unique seating areas. You will also have access to the Grab n’ Go market for specialty coffee and quick bites.” With the promise of a menu release in the near future, we’re all going to have to practice our patience for just a little while longer!
Sebastian’s Bistro
The second, more detailed announcement highlights a brand-new, The Little Mermaid– themed eatery appropriately titled Sebastian’s Bistro! Boasting a menu that promises to offer island-inspired flavors in a Caribbean/under-the-sea-inspired family friendly space!
The color scheme, upholstery patterns, and reef-like chandeliers that gorgeously drip from the ocean-blue ceilings will make you feel like you’ve stepped into Sebastian’s world, and even though the menu hasn’t been officially released, I’m betting that the flavors and offerings will play on island-style classics while putting that tantalizing Disney spin on favorite dishes. Personally, I can’t wait to check out the restaurant when it replaces the old Shutters. Will you give it a try? Leave us a comment and let us know!
