The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade Has Officially Closed for Good in Magic Kingdom
We’ve known it was coming for a while now, but it’s still a sad morning sight to see nonetheless.
The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade has closed for good at Magic Kingdom, marking the end of an era for yet another classic, nostalgia-heavy attraction here at Walt Disney World!
Yep, in case you missed the news, the iconic arcade attraction has officially shot its last shot here in Frontierland.
While passing through the park this morning, our reporters were met with the all-too-familiar sight of sturdy brown construction walls jutting out around the former attraction space, confirming the change and steering us clear away from the old gallery.
Although somewhat inconspicuous amidst many of its Magic Kingdom neighbors, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade was actually an “Opening Day” attraction here at the park, entertaining guests for over fifty years.
Nostalgia is going to make it difficult to see the place go, but this space is not going to be empty for long!
It has been revealed that a new Disney Vacation Club lounge will be opening here in the Frontierland spot, making a cool getaway location for DVC members in the Magic Kingdom.
This will likely be similar to lounges such as the one tucked away in the Imagination Pavilion over at EPCOT.
Unfortunately, we don’t have many more details about this transformation yet. However, you can be sure that we’ll be keeping a close eye on the area for any updates over the next few weeks!
For now, we’ll bid a sorry farewell to the Shootin’ Arcade, and take comfort in the new inspirational signage by PPG Paints that adorn those big brown construction walls.
“See Ya Real Soon!,” we suppose!
