The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade Is Being Replaced with a Disney Vacation Club Lounge
Months after teasing that a new Disney Vacation Club (DVC) Member Lounge would be coming to Walt Disney World this year, Disney has finally revealed the new lounge’s location.
According to Scott Gustin, the Disney Vacation Club has confirmed that the new lounge will be coming to the Magic Kingdom, replacing the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade.
Another Opening Day Attraction Closes
The opening day Magic Kingdom will be the latest Frontierland casualty as Disney continues its systematic demolition of the land. Over the last two years, Splash Mountain has been replaced by Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the original Country Bear Jamboree show has been updated, and now the Shootin’ Arcade is giving way to a new lounge.
The Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade previously cost guests $1 to shoot 35 rounds. In 2021, however, the attraction became free-to-play.
While never the most popular attraction, the shooting gallery has entertained guests for over 50 years.
The Magic Kingdom Gets a DVC Lounge
As for the DVC lounge itself, according to Gustin, Disney will begin construction on the new area later this year, and more details will follow.
While we don’t know for sure, DVC members can likely expect a space similar to the DVC Lounge in EPCOT’s Imagination! pavilion. There, members can relax, charge their devices, and indulge in complimentary snacks and beverages.
