The Admiral Joe Fowler Ferry Boat Sails Back Into Disney World
For many guests, the very first attraction of a day at the Magic Kingdom comes before you even step foot through the park’s gates.
Of course, we’re talking about that magical voyage between the Transportation & Ticketing Center (TTC) parking lot to the park’s main entrance, where the choice of two Disney Transportation services is available to whisk you away to your day of adventure!
Upon arriving at the TTC, many guests will opt to board one of the beautiful Disney ferryboats, which sail guests smoothly across the Seven Seas Lagoon, to disembark right outside the Magic Kingdom entrance plaza.
Whether you personally prefer this transportation option or the Monorail alternative, there’s no denying that the sight of those ferries is enough to put a smile on your face in the morning!
This morning, as our MickeyBloggers approached the port, we noticed that one of the boats had made its return to the lagoon after a short period of refurbishment. Now, she’s looking as shiny and grand as ever!
Admiral Joe Fowler
The Admiral Joe Fowler is the blue boat here at the Seven Seas Lagoon, used to transport guests on a relaxing voyage to and from the Magic Kingdom.
As you can see from that gleam beneath the Florida morning sun, the boat looks pristine and majestic after its recent paint job, with its shining golden nameplate looking prouder than ever before!
The Admiral Joe Fowler was named after the Disney Legend, a U.S. Navy veteran who worked with Walt Disney himself during the completion of Disneyland Resort and various other projects.
You can read about Admiral Joe Fowler in this fascinating MickeyBlog history post here.
So, next time you’re waiting at the TTC, be sure to watch out to see if it’ll be the newly-shimmering blue boat arrive to whisk you off to the Magic Kingdom.
It really is the most magical way to start an adventure-filled day at the park!
