Hurricane Lee Could Potentially Impact Your Disney Travel Plans
We’re in the second half of Hurricane season right now and the storms are certainly not slowing down. Just recently, we saw Hurricane Idalia impact Florida and other areas in the southeast.
Now, there’s another hurricane making its way toward the U.S. so let’s talk about how this could possibly impact your upcoming travel plans to Disney World.
Hurricane Lee
Hurricane Lee is on track to impact coastal New England and Atlantic Canada, according to CNN. The storm is expected to make landfall somewhere between northeast Maine and the Canadian province of Nova Scotia this weekend.
Even though this hurricane is not affecting Disney World, it could affect your travel plans for Disney World if you’re going to or from the Northeast.
As of this afternoon (Thursday), Hurricane Lee is a Category 1 hurricane and is about 230 miles west-southwest of Bermuda in the Atlantic Ocean.
Hurricane and tropical storm watches have been issued for a lot of areas along the New England coast, including in Massachusetts where it extends from the south of Boston to the Cape.
The tropical storm-force winds extend up to 310 miles from the hurricane’s center, so this could definitely impact your flights out of or coming into New England this weekend. We recommend continuing to check your flight’s status and make some backup plans if necessary.
If you are in an area that is under a tropical storm or hurricane warning issued by the National Hurricane Center within 7 days of your scheduled arrival date, you can reschedule your Disney World trip with no cancellation or change fees. Just call Disney at (407) 939-5277.
