Magic Kingdom Scavenger Hunt Celebrates 50th
The abundance of ways to celebrate “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” at the Walt Disney World Resort just keeps growing. Today, MickeyBloggers popped by Disney’s Contemporary Resort to pick up an all-new Magic Kingdom Attractions Scavenger Hunt.
The design of the scavenger hunt itself harkens back to the Magic Kingdom’s earliest tickets, which used an A-B-C-D-E system. As the third block of text introuducing the hunt states, “When the Magic Kingdom opened, Guests purchased ticket books for five different attraction levels, from simple ‘A’ attraction to thrilling ‘E’ attractions.”
The front also encourages resort explorers to use the hashtag #DisneyWorld50 to share their fun on the hunt with others on social media. The hashtag promises to be one full of joy and magical memories over the next 18 months of the 50th anniversary celebration.
On the back of the scavenger hunt card, guests discover a series of eight clues. Each clue leads guests, in this case, around the grounds of Disney’s Contemporary Resort to find symbols and artifacts relating to eight Magic Kingdom opening day attractions. Once participants locate the icon, they will also notice a letter featured on the initial ticket.
From there, the letters fill in blanks provided at the bottom of the guide, completing a very important celebratory phrase for the Walt Disney World Resort’s magical milestone.
MickeyBloggers found the scavenger hunt at Buena Vista Gifts inside of the main building at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. The entertainment selection can also be found at Disney’s Polyensian Village Resort. It seems fitting that these two resorts host the scavenger hunt. Disney’s Contemporary Resort and the Polynesian both hold very special places in the world of Walt Disney World lodgings. They were the original resort locations that opened on October 1, 1971.
An Incredible Transformation
Like the Polynesia, the Contemporary continues to undergo a massive refurbishment, specifically in its main building.
Guest rooms there as well as common areas continue to take on a new theming based on the Pixar film, “The Incredibles.” With an expected end date in the near future, we can’t wait to see the final looks when work is complete.
