Disney Is Trialing NEW Compost Bins At Animal Kingdom
You MickeyBlogger is on the scene at Animal Kingdom today where caught a first look at a new system that Disney is trialing at the theme parks!
Over in the Dinoland U.S.A section of the theme park in front of DinoBites is the first signs of Disney’s new recycling program!
As you can see from the bins above in addition to the recycling bin and the trash bin there is now a green compost bin. Guests can us this to dispose of food, cups, plates and other service ware! This is just further proof of Disney World’s ongoing commitment to continue to come up with systems to reduce waste at the theme parks.
At the moment it should be noted that this is just a trial run. Animal Kingdom with its commitment to conservation, the environment and sustainability seems like a natural fit for this test run!
It remains to be seen whether this is something we’ll see unveiled at all of the theme parks and resorts.
If you have any doubt about whether items are compostable, just follow the simple guidelines on the front of the green bin.
The plates, cups and utensils themselves should also have print that let’s you know they can be composted!
Standard packets, wrappers and packaging should still be thrown in the standard trash bin.
Disney still has a separate blue recycling bin for bottles and cans.
