Disney Files (Another) Permit For Test Track 3.0
While EPCOT’s transformation technically came to an end last month with the opening of CommuniCore Hall and Plaza, the park is continuing to undergo changes.
The biggest project currently underway at EPCOT is the transformation of Test Track in World Discovery.
Originally announced at last year’s D23 Expo, the third version of Test Track will be inspired by the World of Motion attraction that operated at EPCOT from 1982 until 1996.
We have previously updated you on the Test Track construction, including the fact that the Chevrolet cars previously showcased inside the pavilion are now parked outside.
Disney Files Another Test Track Permit
As work on the attraction continues, Disney has filled a new construction permit for Test Track.
The new document calls for the Jon Richards Company to “install set elements” inside the new Test Track.

The contractor has a long history of working with Disney, having contributed to projects at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Tokyo Disney Sea, Hong Kong Disney, Cars Land, and Buena Vista Street at Disney California Adventure.
Most recently, the Jon Richards Company was tasked with creating the new signage for the Country Bear Musical Jamboree.
The permit calls for the installation of set elements, so it sounds like the contractor will create some of the attraction’s new scene elements.
Coastal Steel Is Also Working on the Attraction
Interestingly, this is the second construction permit we have seen filed for Test Track 3.0. In April, Disney filed a permit that named Coastal Steel Inc. as the contractor on the project. That company is known for its work on Disney projects, including Expedition Everest, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, and even the Sorcerer’s Hat, which used to loom over Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
