The Disney Difference: The Stunning Artwork of Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, then you know that we have been celebrating the opening of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point all weekend long.
Throughout the last couple of days, we have reported on the food, merchandise, recreation, and entertainment that the newest Disney Cruise line destination has in store for guests. We have even revealed all the characters visitors can meet!
As we wrap up our tour of Lookout Cay, I want to quickly highlight some of the subtle details throughout the island that make Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point the perfect blend of Disney magic and Bahamian culture.
Drawing on Eleuthera and The Bahamas For Inspiration
For example, the structures located throughout Lookout Cat were designed to resemble colorful seashells, just like the kind that are scattered along Eleuthera’s coastline!
The beautiful pavilions at Lookout Cay were also designed to celebrate the beauty and history of The Bahamas. For example, Bahamian-inspired art is displayed throughout the dining pavilions and bars and at the Goombay Cultural Center.

At the latter, guests can participate in the Sights and Suns of Junkanoo family workshop, where local artisans teach the history of Junkanoo. The Bahamas’ signature festival is known for its color parades, music, and dancing.
Other Artistic Flourishes
Other artistic details located in the pavilion and throughout the island include:
– A large sculpture by Antonious Roberts, which was constructed from a fallen tree found during the construction of Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
– Paintings by Kevin Cooper and wood carvings on the exterior doors inspired by Andret John’s original designs.
