VIDEO – Star Wars: Squadrons – Single Player Preview
Yes. I am looking forward to getting the trailer for the second season of The Mandalorian. But there is plenty of Star Wars coming our way. And one of the most exciting parts of the upcoming deluge is “Star Wars: Squadrons.”
Now, I go back to the ORIGINAL Star Wars video game; the vector graphics-driven stand or sit arcade game. Of course, there were versions on various consoles throughout my life, but Rogue Squadron on N64 remains a highlight.
And, darn it, doesn’t this look like an expanded version of that classic?
Star Wars: Squadrons – A Preview
This Week! In Star Wars’ host Kristin Baver previewed the preview:
“We all choose our path. Light or dark. Freedom or destruction…” With these words, General Leia Organa ushers you into the world of Star Wars: Squadrons. The game invites players to fly with the New Republic and a shattered Empire on a slew of first-person missions.
During Gamescom Opening Night Live today, we stepped inside the gameplay with an exciting new video preview that revealed our first glimpse at an early Imperial mission behind enemy lines. It’s just one of the high-flying missions that await those who join up when the newest Star Wars space combat game is released on October 2.

Squadrons: Take-Aways
Baver gave us five highlights, as well. Here are just one of her takeaways:
1. It’s a time of intrigue. The Empire may have fallen after the Battle of Endor ended Emperor Palpatine’s reign, but Imperial operatives are still fighting for the cause. And inside the New Republic, there are ISB spies among those trying to forge a new democracy, including Agent Thorn who has intel on the mysterious Project Starhawk.
And, I will say this: I enjoyed this trailer very much, but especially the beginning of the vid as it resembles a recruiting ad! Actually, it reminds me of the OPPOSITE of the recruitment video in Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Will you be playing on October 2?
