The second episode of the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube series, We Call It Imagineering, took a deep dive into the effect that music plays in Disney attractions.
In addition to giving fans a first glimpse at the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction, the episode also pulled the curtain back on the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree show that is in development.

For those who don’t remember, Walt Disney World closed the original Country Bear Jamboree on January 27 in order to make way for a new show.
Expected to open this summer, the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree will continue to pay homage to the Opry-style shows of Nashville. This time around, however, the bears will sing reinterpreted Disney songs in different genres of country music. These styles will include bluegrass, pop-country, Americana, rockabilly, and more.

In addition to new songs, the bears themselves are being upgraded and even given new costumes.
Meet the Team Behind the New Show
To bring the new show to life, Disney teamed up with a group of Nashville’s finest musicians. Leading the team was 10-time CMA Musician of the Year, Mac McAnally.

In addition to his numerous awards, McAnally is known as one of the finest songwriters in Nashville. He has been elected to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, Mississippi Musicians Hall of Fame, and the Alabama Music Hall of Fame.
Joining him in the new show will be Emily Ann Roberts, who provides the voice of Trixie St. Claire. Long known for her rendition of “Tears Will be the Chaser For Your Wine,” Trixie will be now be performing a twangy version of “Try Everything” from Zootopia.

“I’ve never done anything like this, where the song is truly coming to life before folks’ eyes,” shared Emily Ann. “It was really neat to hear the whole concept and then being able to stand behind the mic and think ‘how do I put myself in Trixie’s shoes?’”
The Show’s New Songs
Finally, Disney has revealed that singers Allison Russell and Christopher Scott Thile will perform a mandolin-heavy version of “A Whole New World” as the voices of Teddi Barra and Wendell.

In total, we now know three of the songs that will be performed in the Country Bear Musical Jamboree (Disney previously announced that “The Bare Nessiciteies” will be featured). It also sounds like a country version of “Friend Like Me” can be heard in the background of the latest video.
I, for one, can’t wait to see the Country Bears take the stage again.
