PHOTOS: First Look at NEW Drone Show Coming to Disney Springs
Following in the footsteps of Disneyland Paris, which has perfected the art, Disney Springs is set to come alive later this month with a new drone show titled Disney Dreams That Soar, presented by AT&T.
Ahead of the new show’s May 24 debut, the Disney Live Entertainment team shared a sneak peek at the limited-time night-time spectacular.

“We are presenting Disney characters who have had a dream of flying. Not just the idea that they can fly, but the idea of taking their lives to the next level,” said Show Director Tony Giordano. “We put a lot of thought in making sure that no matter how old you are, or how much of a fan you are, you’re going to see a character that you love.”
The Show Will Use 800 Drones
In total, the show will utilize 800 drones, which will work together to create a canvas in the night sky. During the show, the drones will even create a Baymax that is twice the height of Spaceship Earth!

“We were given the assignment to create an experience where you want to just hold the hand of the person next to you,” said Tony. “That’s always echoing in my mind as we work on this show.”
A Magical Soundtrack
Tying the show together will be a soundtrack made up of Disney classics and even an original song. In total, the show will clock in at just under 10 minutes and there will be two shows nightly!

According to Disney, the best place to experience the show is along the waterway on Disney Springs’ West Side.

“I can’t wait to stand next to the guests and hear their reactions. That’s my favorite part of building any show because those reactions are why we do what we do. We want them to actually experience magic, and when you see all these drones, to me, you get to see real magic!”

While Disney Dreams That Soar, presented by AT&T, will run from May 24 through September 2, Cast Members will get a chance to preview the show on May 22 at 5:30 a.m. I, for one, can’t wait to see what Disney has cooked up!
