Living with the Land’s Rainforest Scene Gets Updated Lighting and Improved Thunder Effect
For the last 42 years, change has been a constant at EPCOT. Horizons and Wonders of Life have come and gone, the World of Motion was transformed into Test Track, and more recently, the Guardians of the Galaxy moved into the former Universe of Energy. Heck, even the name Future World has been retired.
Through it all, however, Living with the Land has remained. Sure, the attraction has lost its theme song, and the Cast Member guides are a thing of the past, but for over four decades, the boat ride attraction has provided guests with the kind of edutainment that EPCOT was built on.

As a self-proclaimed Living with the Land super-fan, I am thrilled anytime the attraction gets some attention.
Recently, we saw vignettes based on classic Disney stories added to the Living with the Land greenhouse. Now, I am happy to report that the attraction’s rainforest scene has gotten an upgrade.
New Lighting Debuts in the Rainforest
When taking a leisurely tour of the Earth’s biomes today on Living with the Land, we learned that the rainforest section has gotten some new ambient lighting.

The new lighting package is very reminiscent of Na’vi River Journey!
Here is another look at how the scene is now lit.
Other Improvements!
In addition to the new lighting, the scene’s thunder effect has also been updated. It is a lot louder than it was before!
The rainforest room has received some NEW and colorful ambient lighting. Check out the small gator in the water! 🐊 We haven’t seen him in awhile! #livingwiththeland #EPCOT pic.twitter.com/JEGdK1rPaL

Last but certainly not least, the alligator that calls the Living with the Land rainforest home has also returned. That guy has been missing for years!

With everything going on at EPCOT, it is great to see that Disney hasn’t forgotten about Living with the Land. So, next time you are in the park, make sure you stop by!
