Update: Metal Panels Removed from NBA Experience in Disney Springs
There is a lot of transformation happening around Walt Disney World this spring. From attractions like Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to new areas like CommuniCore Hall & Plaza in EPCOT–it is an exciting time in the parks.

Some of these updates are minor refurbishments, and some are major overhauls. One transformation happening right now is the NBA Experience in Disney Springs.
Disney announced in 2021 that this attraction would remain permanently closed after only operating for two years. The company filed for a demolition permit on February 15, 2024, and we noticed more de-theming on the facade this week.
Building Updates
While Disney has yet to announce any official plans for this location, the NBA Experience building is undergoing changes.
We previously shared that construction crews removed the outside steel squares on top of the building’s roof.
Today, we noticed more metal panels were removed.

Construction crews previously started removing the fixtures on the building’s east side and are slowly working their way around.

The metal panels had various images of basketball players along the front.

Here is a look at the few that remain. Two more steel structures have been removed with the majority of the work happening overnight.

Here is another great look! The video screens and ribbon still remain above CityWorks, but they will likely also be removed in the next few days.
