PHOTOS: Progress Continues to Be Made on the EPCOT Flex Space
As hard as it is to believe, the multi-year transformation of EPCOT will finally come to an end on June 10 when CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza finally open.
After years of seemingly endless construction, the heart of EPCOT will once again be open to guests, serving as a center for Disney fans to come together.
While much attention has been paid to the construction at CommuniCore Hall, I want to turn your attention to the nearby flex space near the Imagination pavilion, where a major milestone has been reached.
Concrete Poured at the EPCOT Flex Space
When riding the Walt Disney World monorail today, we were able to get a peek over the construction walls and see that concrete has been poured at the center of the construction.
While it clearly looks like there is still a lot of work to be done, progress has been made.
Here is another look.
And one last angle.
What Will Open Here
Previously the flex space, which sits near the Imagination! pavilion, has been used as the location of a playground and to house festival booths.
At this time, however, it is not clear what the flex space will be used for. I wouldn’t be surprised if it often rotates its offerings based on the EPCOT festival in season.
Hopefully, as the area gets closer and closer to completion, we will learn more soon!
I, for one, can’t wait to see what Disney is cooking up!
