Sophia Di Martino Discusses Sylvie’s Future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
While Tom Hiddleston continues to be pestered with questions about his future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), his Loki co-stars have uncertain futures of their own.
Season 2 of Loki ended with the newly christened God of Stories literally holding the multiverse together at the end of time. For many longtime fans, it felt like a proper conclusion to Hiddleston’s MCU journey.
In accepting his not-so-happy ending, however, Loki also gave his friends a chance at a new beginning.
Will Sylvie Return?
Perhaps the Loki character who has the best chance to impact the future of the MCU is Sophia Di Martino’s Sylvie. The Loki variant was last seen walking through a Timedoor, now free to live her life.
While Di Martino has been open about the fact that she would love to see Sylvie explore the broader MCU, in a recent interview with Variety, the actress admitted that she hasn’t heard anything from Marvel.
“I have no idea, honestly,” she said. “I’m open to more. But honestly I think the [Season 2] finale was great and if that’s it, I’m very grateful for what we’ve had. But they don’t say anything. The veil of secrecy extends to us, too.”
If she were to return to the MCU, however, Di Martino has an idea of what she would like to see the Asgardian do next.
I think it would be great to see Sylvie and Thor,” she said. “I think it would be fun to see them get wound up, especially if Loki is in the equation. Three siblings together? The dynamic would be interesting.”
Hiddleston Says He’s “Proud of Where We Ended Up”
As for Hiddleston, the actor continues to assert that he doesn’t know what Loki’s future holds. If the character’s story is over, he is proud of what he accomplished.
“There had been times before when I truly thought it was the end and I’ve been mistaken,” he said. “But if this is the end, I’m so proud of where we ended up.”
Loki is streaming on Disney+.
