Queen Concert Film ‘Queen Rock Montreal’ Is Coming to Disney+
Disney+ is quickly becoming the must-have streaming service for music fans. Hot on the heels of the record-breaking Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version), Disney+ has announced that the legendary concert film Queen Rock Montreal is coming to the streamer.
The upcoming concert film will not only feature legendary rock band Queen in their prime, but it will also mark the first-ever concert film on Disney+ with IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS.
Queen Rock Montreal captures Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon in November of 1981, rocking Montreal’s Forum.
The Film Features IMAX Enhanced Sound
The original concerts were specifically arranged to be filmed. The magic of that night will be brought back to life with IMAX Enhanced sound powered by DTS.
The concert footage was initially released as We Will Rock You. The IMAX-restored film, however, returned to theaters last January as Queen Rock Montreal.
The film was restored by IMAX by Mercury Studios. Geoff Kempin and Alice Webb for Mercury Studios and Jim Beach and Matilda Beach for Queen Films serve as executive producers.
Disney+ To Debut Documentaries and Concert Films in May
May is shaping up to be a big month for concert films and documentaries on Disney+.
Queen Rock Montreal now joins The Beach Boys and Jim Henson: Idea Man as big releases set to debut next month.
