PHOTOS: Progress Continues at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom
Change is afoot in Fronteirland as Tiana’s Bayou Adventure inches closer and closer to opening day!
Over a year after Splash Mountain closed for good, construction crews are still hard at work on the upcoming attraction, bringing life to new characters, new critters, and a whole new storyline for Princess Tiana and her friends.
Our team stopped by Fronteirland this week for a closer look at the progress. Let’s check it out!
Interior Progress at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Until recently, the interior of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure has been shrouded in mystery. Over the past few weeks, however, we’ve learned much about what we can expect INSIDE Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
From a sneak peek at the attraction’s cutting-edge animatronics to intel on a charming band comprised entirely of frogs, there’s lots to be excited about regarding the interior of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
Exterior Construction Continues
On the other hand, we’ve been following the attraction’s exterior transformation ever since Splash Mountain closed in 2023. At this point, exterior construction updates may be feeling a little old hat compared to the flashy interior sneak peeks.
Yet, the ongoing exterior transformation is no less impressive — and no less important — than the magic happening inside that old salt mine.
As the only visible changes we’ve seen for over a year, the construction outside the attraction has served as sort of a benchmark for the overall progress of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
As construction continues and we inch closer and closer to opening day, we’re seeing even more glimpses of the final product.
This week, crews installed light fixtures above the Main Entrance…
…continued work on this outdoor staircase…
…and installed lampposts along the cobblestone walkway.
The lampposts are still wrapped in a protective covering, so there’s no telling what exactly they look like underneath,
For reference, here’s a shot of some nearby lampposts, which were also recently installed:
The new, still-wrapped light posts look pretty similar, right? Still, there’s a roundness near the bottom of the new posts that’s absent from the wooden posts seen above, indicating that these new posts may be a slightly different style.
Finally, our eagle-eyed MickeyBlog reporters spotted a construction team installing small metal pikes near the wooden lampposts after the drop.
We’re not quite sure what these are, but we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more info!
