Alaqua Cox Discusses Maya Lopez’s Future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe

After a disappointing 2023, Marvel Studios rebounded earlier this year with the positively-received Echo.

The Hawkeye spinoff ushered in a series of firsts for Marvel, just months after the studio announced that it would overhaul how it made television.

For starters, Echo was the first Marvel Studios production to receive a TV-MA rating. Perhaps more importantly, however, it was also the first series to be released under the new Marvel Spotlight banner.

The newly created sub-set of the MCU will focus on street-level stories that fans can enjoy without necessarily being caught up with the broader MCU.

What’s Next For Maya Lopez?

Despite delivering good reviews and strong ratings, Marvel has so far been mum on what is next for Alaqua Cox’s Echo. The waiting, as it turns out, is tough for Cox.

“Oh my gosh, I honestly have no patience. So waiting is driving me nuts,” she revealed.

Perhaps the most natural place for Maya Lopez to return would be Daredevil: Born Again. According to Cox, she would be thrilled to see you join the series.

“Oh, absolutely. I’m very much looking forward to it, and I’m hoping that at some point, they’ll be able to add Echo into the future series of Daredevil as well.”

We Should See Echo Again

While it may be tough for fans (and Cox) to wait, with Echo ushering in a new era of street-level stories, we should see Maya Lopez again.
