The Walt Disney Company Will Hold Its May Q2 Earnings Call Before the Bell
The Walt Disney Company announced today that it will hold its Q2 Fiscal Year 2024 earnings call on May 7 at 8:30 am ET.
While the announcement that the meeting will be held at the beginning of May is no surprise, the time that Disney will report its earnings is interesting.
Traditionally, Disney has always reported earnings after the bell at 4 p.m. ET. This will be a significant change for Disney.
Disney is Riding High
Following the announcement at their annual meeting that Bob Iger and The Walt Disney Company board of directors had defeated Nelson Peltz, Jay Rasulo, and the Blackwells slate of candidates in their bid to join the board, Iger and his team are riding high.
Disney will look to continue that momentum at its Q2 earnings call.
What to Expect
As for the meeting itself, all eyes will likely be on Disney’s streaming margins. Iger has promised investors that Disney’s streaming business will be profitable by the end of the fiscal year.
Investors and Wall Street analysts alike will want to see Disney make progress in that direction or perhaps even meet its goal early.
Outside of streaming, topics include the future of ESPN, Disney’s investment in the video game industry, and perhaps even an update on Disney’s succession plan.
Fans will also likely be hoping to hear updates on the company’s plans for the Disney Parks. Perhaps an opening date for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure?
No matter what announcement Disney has in store, Bob Iger ensures that all eyes are on Disney by scheduling their earnings call before the bell.
