D23 is hosting Down in New Orleans—Celebrating 15 Years of The Princess and the Frog this weekend, and MickeyBlog is there.
We were lucky enough to attend this special event, and we have a lot to share.
There is an amazing swag bag, an exclusive screening, special guests, entertainment, and more! Come join us and have fun as we celebrate 15 years of this fantastic movie.

The movie was held at AMC theaters in Harahan, Louisiana, and included an 11 AM or 12 PM screening.
Fans also had the option to purchase “the Big Easy Ticket,” which included a screening and access to the jazz museum event later that evening.
We received a gold and green lanyard to wear for the event later that evening and a cool swag bag when you checked in with your ticket.
The lanyard also has a link to the day’s “menu” with the evening itinerary and times.
Some of the special events coming up are a presentation on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, a meet-and-greet with Tiana and Naveen, and more.
In addition, we received some awesome Disney swag!
Amazing D23 Swag Bag
The purple tote bag was filled with themed goodies!
The awesome gifts included Tiana’s cookbook filled with great art and tasty recipes.
And a pair of Disney+ Mickey ears!
We also got a D23 mason jar with twinkling string lights inside.
And we love this D23 magnet for our home!
The bag also included two coupons for a free drink and popcorn for the movie.
Once we had our treats, we found our seats and settled in for the exclusive screening.
Prior to the movie starting, the screen showed Princess and the Frog fun facts and movie tidbits.
We attended the 11:00 screening, and shortly after, a speaker introduced Keith David, the voice of Dr. Facilier. Keith answered questions about the audition process, what it was like to play the villain, and how he channeled his character.
The host introduced Jim Cummings, the voice of Ray, who shared his excitement about attending the event. Keith introduced the movie, and we sat back and enjoyed the film.
D23 Evening Festivities
The evening event took place at the New Orleans Jazz Museum.
Not only is this a museum, but it is also a state-of-the-art recording and performance space with daily concerts, lectures, and more
There was so much to see, and one of our favorite experiences was this meet and greet.
Tiana and Naveen were greeting fans, and their line was pretty long throughout the evening.
And we cannot forget the amazing food!

Various New Orleans dishes were available throughout the evening.
We indulged on Couchon de Lait, Jambalaya Zydeco Chicken Pasta, Chicken & Andoiulle Gumbo, and rice and beans.
Check out these pictures of the tasty offerings!
Everything was delicious!
The evening also included special events and presentations.
This one took a deep dive into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and how it ties into the history and authenticity of New Orleans.
At the end of the presentation, Jim Cummings sang “Evangeline” and “Goin’ Down the Bayou!”
As we wandered through the museum, we noticed these colorful backdrops.
There were two photo backdrops at the event: one featuring playing cards with your favorite Disney characters and another featuring a geometric D23 design.
The New Orleans Jazz Museum
The night also included access to the Jazz Exhibits!
This was such a fun evening, and we had so much fun celebrating The Princess and the Frog. Stay tuned and keep following MickeyBlog for updates on this and all things Disney.
