Former President of Walt Disney Imagineering Bob Weis Endorses Bob Iger
The former president of Walt Disney Imagineering, Bob Weis, has lent his support to Bob Iger and The Walt Disney Company board amid their ongoing proxy fight with Nelson Peltz’s Trian Partners and Blackwells Capital.
In a recent Instagram post, Weiss lauded Iger as a personal mentor and great leader.

“I have been in this business for almost four decades. Bob Iger is a mentor and guiding North Star for me,” the post began.
Disney exists because of a synergy between story and art and place making and experience and quality. Weave those together and they form a successful business plan, because people have a high expectation, and an emotional connection that needs to be respected, fostered and expanded.”
Weis and Iger Have a Long Working Relationship
Referencing their years of working together, Weis noted that Iger may make his job look easy, but in reality, it is anything but.
“As Walt himself said, ‘we keep moving forward.’ Bob Iger has kept us moving forward by investing in talent and ideas, respecting the past but insisting on an innovative future, and being willing to experiment even when the odds sometimes look tough,” he continued.
“Without this level of leadership grounded in storytelling, experience, art, talent recognition and moving ahead, it’s a rudderless ship; enormous potential with no ability to steer. I was grateful for each meeting I had with Bob, however challenging he might have been with us, and I remain grateful the company I care so much about continues under his steady hand. He makes it look easy—but no one should make the mistake of thinking it is.”
Endorsements of Iger Keep Coming
Weis is just the latest high-level endorsement that Iger has picked up in recent weeks.
Yesterday, George Lucas lent his public support to Iger, noting that “making magic is not for amateurs.”
Additionally, the grandchildren of Walt and Roy Disney, JP Morgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon, and proxy advisory company Glass Lewis have endorsed Iger of late.
The battle between Iger, Peltz, and Blackwells will come to a head at The Walt Disney Company’s annual meeting on April 3.
