EPCOT Update: First Colored Pavement Blocks Appear at CommuniCore Hall
Is CommuniCore Hall getting any closer to opening? We hope so—it seems that the transformation happening at EPCOT has been going on for such a long time.
And if you follow along, you know that MickeyBlog has been sharing updates on its progress with you every few days.
The new CommuniCore Hall and Plaza is supposed to open by the end of 2024 and is one of the last pieces still in progress. We have seen new details slowly coming together, like the CommuniCore mural and the exterior paneling.
Today, we noticed a new “first” happening and hope this means we are nearing the end of construction.

CommuniCore Hall at EPCOT is looking great and coming along nicely.
Construction crews are working daily to complete work in this area. We checked out the construction updates from the monorail and caught a small glimpse of something new.
The first colored pavement block for World Celebration is poured in the CommuniCore Hall area.
Look closely! You can see a blue/turquoise area on the ground.
You can spot the green/blue pavement being installed in two spots on this side of the construction.
Both spots are being installed on this one specific side for now.
This is not the only update today. The stage is also being worked on by crews.

The concept art shows a vibrant and colorful stage used for future shows and performances.
The photos show more work being done on the new festival area. It also looks like we will soon have lighting fixtures installed.
