Relax by the water, zip down the waterslides, float along a lazy river–there is so much to do. Let’s check out the opening day fun at Typhoon Lagoon!
Disney Waterparks
Disney guests have two options when it comes to water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, but they are not operational at the same time.
The two water parks take turns closing while one stays open during specific months.
Typhoon Lagoon closed its doors in October for its annual refurbishment while Blizzard Beach remained open.
Now, they have switched, just in time for Spring Break.
And look who was there to welcome us today!
Stitch is kicking off spring break fun at Typhoon Lagoon.
And plenty of guests are here for the reopening day.
Check Out the Fun
We didn’t notice too many major changes, just an over all refresh of the park.
Here is a great photo of Castaway Creek as guests grabbed their tubes and floated along the 2,000-foot-long route!
And guests of all ages checked out the fun at Ketchakiddee Creek. Specially made for kids under 4 feet tall, little ones can enjoy shallow pools, mini waterslides, and a special cave.
Typhoon Lagoon has so many great options that range from calm and gentle to fast and thrilling.
You can catch a wave in the giant surf pool or simply relax on the beach’s soft sand.
And there are still plenty of great places to unwind under shady palms or large beach umbrellas.
Here is a great look at the Beachcomber Shacks.
These private cabanas can accommodate up to 10 guests and offer great amenities, such as towels, cold water, souvenir mugs, and more.
A Few Updates
Here is where we did notice some updates!
There is new rope on the bridge leading up to the iconic centerpiece, Miss Tilly.
Here is another great look! The bridge looks brighter and refreshed– and is still a lot of fun to walk through!
As we wandered through the water park we noticed not all of the dining locations were open yet.
But you can still purchase your souvenir mug to save on refills and stay hydrated throughout the day.
The price is $12.99 for one day of fountain drink refills and $8.50 for the one-day mug reactivation option.
And, of course, your favorite snack shacks are open, and you can indulge in creamy treats and DOLE whip.
We were having so much fun we had to stop by some of our other favorite food and beverage locations.
We were excited to find some new eats!
Leaning Palms is always a great option for a quick bite. And their menu has some classic faves mixed in with new offerings.
One of the menu favorites is a rice bowl, which you can now get with shrimp, chicken, pork, or tofu.
Other new offerings include Elote Nachos, Cuban flatbread, and a pulled pork sandwich.
In addition, there are new drinks you don’t want to miss, including the New Butterfly pea tea lemonade and the new Shakin’ Jamaican with coconut cold foam!
Typhoon Tilly’s is another great quick-service option.
Indulge in new menu items including a Shrimp Louie Salad, Shrimp Boil, Watermelon Poke Bowl, and Fried Fish Platter.
I love all of the food at this dining hotspot, but I also love the theming and decor!
And this is a great place to enjoy a frozen drink or a refreshing cocktail.
And when you are craving something sweet, there is only one place to go…
…the delicious Mini Donuts shack!
Gather your crew and get ready to beat the heat. Typhoon Lagoon is now open and this tropical oasis is the perfect way to have fun on your next Disney vacation.
