‘Skeleton Crew’ Star Hints At When The Series Will Finally Premiere
While The Acolyte will be the next Star Wars series to hit Disney+, by the sound of things, Skeleton Crew may not be far behind it.
While The Acyolte will take viewers back to the era of the High Republic, Skeleton Crew is set in the age of the New Republic, right alongside The Mandalorian and Ahsoka.
The series was originally announced at Star Wars Celebration 2022 and will tell the story of four children lost in the galaxy who must go on an adventure to make their way back home. The series has repeatedly been compared to the Steven Spielberg films of the 1980s, with Lucasfilm reportedly describing Skeleton Crew as a “galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.”
When Will ‘Skeleton Crew’ Debut?
While Skeleton Crew was not on Disney+’s 2024 release calendar, speculation has continued that the series will finally debut this year.
In a recent interview with The Direct, Skeleton Crew star Dane DiLiegro revealed that he has an idea when the premiere might take place.
“By the fall,” he said. “If I were to guess… That’s completely surmising. There’s no information behind that. I know that Lucasfilm likes to release things around November-ish. So I’m hoping by then.”
Worth the Wait
After admitting that he had meant to reach out to director David Lowery for more information, DiLiegro assured fans that no matter when Skeleton Crew premieres, it will be worth waiting for.
“I know Lucasfilm is due for something pretty cool. And I think Skeleton Crew might be that thing,” he added.
