When creating Typhoon Lagoon, Disney Imagineering came up with such a rich and intriguing back story for the place, including a whole host of colorful characters whose legends live on in various ways throughout the park today. If you’ve not heard the story, it reads as follows:
“A furious storm once roared ‘cross the sea, catching ships in its path, helpless to flee. Instead of a certain and watery doom, the winds swept them here to Typhoon Lagoon.”
