Disneyland Magic Key Sales Resume With an All-New Queue Feature
Disneyland Resort Magic Key sales resumed today, giving fans another chance to score Disneyland annual passes.
With demand high, Disney is once again using a virtual queue to organize its Magic Key sales, but this time around, they are making things easier for prospective buyers.
How The Virtual Queue Works
After joining the virtual queue, guests are given an estimated wait time. When their turn is finally called, they have 10 minutes to enter the site and purchase their passes.
Due to high demand, Disney is warning would-be buyers that Magic Key pass availability is limited and that being in the queue or entering the site does not guarantee the ability to purchase any Magic Key passes.
New pass sales will begin every morning no earlier than 9 a.m. PT and pause each night at 10:00 p.m. PT. Prospective buyers can remain in the queue overnight as long as they stay connected to the internet with their browser open. So far, all four Magic Keys are still available.
If you have gone through the process of buying a Magic Key or a Disney World Annual Pass before, everything I have told you should sound familiar.
Buyers Can Now Get Email Notifications When It’s Their Turn
The new wrinkle in the system is that Disneyland is also giving buyers the option to receive an email notification when it is their turn to enter the website.
If guests choose this route, they will receive two separate emails containing a unique link. The first email will allow them to check their place in the queue.
The second email will notify them that their turn to purchase Magic Key passes is approaching.
After that email is sent, buyers will have 10 minutes to use the link to return to the site. If they don’t, they will lose their place in line.
It is important to note that when it is a buyer’s turn, they will only be able to use the link once. They must be prepared to complete their purchase when they click. If they miss their turn, buyers will have to rejoin the queue.
The System Worked For Disneyland After Dark
This system was originally tested out last month for Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite tickets and seemed to work well.
Magic Key passes are limited, and new sales could be paused at any time. So, if you are planning on purchasing a new Magic Key, you will want to join the queue as soon as possible.
