Chris Evans Reveals His Favorite MCU Movie and Teases a Possible Return
Chris Evans is making the convention rounds and reflecting back on his time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) as Steve Rogers.
At the Emerald City Comic Con, Evans spoke with Popverse’s Veronica Valencia about his time as Captain America. During the conversation, he was asked about Captain America: Winter Soldier. As it turns out, the Captain America sequel was his favorite MCU film.

“10 years. [You’re] making me feel old,” Evans tells Popverse’s Veronica Valencia. “It’s my personal favorite Marvel movie I’ve been a part of. And it’s not just for the movie itself, but the experience. On the first film, I was so nervous. You know what you’re stepping into, you know what Marvel’s expecting out of it. As a result, you’re playing defense; you’re playing not to lose.”
Hitting His Stride
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is often cited by fans as the best film in the MCU. As Evans explained, as an actor, he felt like he was hitting his stride. For the film, he was also paired with directors Anthony and Joe Russo for the first time.

“When Winter Soldier came around, we were all kind of playing to win,” says Evans. “It was my first film with the Russos. There was a lot to prove, to make your mark, taking more risks. The character felt more fleshed out. It was a really exciting time, and I think they nailed it.”

“So, for me, it was one of the more satisfying experiences in my Marvel run,” he concluded.
Evans Says There Are More Steve Rogers Stories to Tell
In addition to his trip down memory lane, Evans has also been asked about his MCU future. At the C3E2 fan convention in Chicago, the actor admitted that he thought there were more Steve Rogers stories to tell.
“It’s tough, because look, I love that role deeply,” Evans said. “He means so much to me, and I really do. I think there’s more Steve Rogers stories to tell, sure.”

Still, if Evans were to return, the moment would have to be right.
“But at the same time, I’m very, very precious with it… it’s like this little shiny thing that I have that I love so much, and I just don’t want to mess up in any way, and I was a part of something that was so special for the special period of time and in a way, it really landed so well.”
“It Doesn’t Quite Feel Right”
While Evans seems open to returning to the MCU someday, it doesn’t sound like that moment will come anytime soon.

“As much as I’m connected to that role and love telling those stories and working with those people, it doesn’t quite feel right right now.”
