One ‘Clone Wars’ Star Would Like to See an Iconic Jedi Brought Back From the Dead
If one voice actor from Star Wars: The Clone Wars had his way, an iconic Jedi would return from the dead.
James Arnold Taylor, who voiced Plo Koon in the Star Wars animated series, recently sat down with Popverse to discuss the time he spent voicing the character. While discussing the story of Plo Koon, Taylor admitted that he would love to see the character return.
“I would love it if they brought him back, but I would be really thrilled if we were able to extend what they did in the last series [Tales of the Jedi] with Ahsoka and Plo. I’d love a whole mini-series of when she was little, and him training her as a Jedi,” he said.
“I know that Ashley is an amazing actress and she could voice little Ahsoka, and she could voice midsize Ahsoka, and then full-grown Ahsoka because we’ve seen all that. And I would love to see their arc told more. I want to know what happened there.”
One Major Problem
While Taylor’s plan sounds amazing in theory, there is one big problem. Plo Koon was killed during the events of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of Sith. Obviously, this means that it is unlikely that the character could be reunited with a “full-grown” Ahsoka.
Since the character’s story was expanded upon in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Plo Koon has been one of the most popular Jedi in Star Wars. In fact, Dave Filoni has frequently cited Plo Koon has his favorite Star Wars character.
While both Filoni and Star Wars fans have often expressed hope that Plo Koon could have miraculously survived Order 66 and return to the Star Wars universe, that seems unlikely.
George Lucas has been adamant in his stance that Plo died during Order 66. Any retcon to bring the Jedi back would undercut the emotional impact of Palpatine’s sinister order.
Still, the idea of a young Ahsoka and Plo Koon series would be a lot of fun. Hopefully, Taylor might get his wish.
