My Favorite Indoor Attractions for a Rainy Disney Day!
It is a grey rainy day here, Disney friends! And if you waited all year for your amazing Disney vacation, you may be left feeling a little frustrated by today’s forecast.
But good news! Your vacation is not ruined- in fact, it is just beginning. There are plenty of cool ways to make the most out of a rainy day at Disney World.
And if you are lucky enough to be visiting the parks today, now is the perfect time to take advantage of the great indoor attractions.
Grab your poncho and get ready for fun. These are a few of my favorite indoor attractions for a rainy Disney Day.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
Avoiding the rain at Magic Kingdom? Hop aboard your XP-37 star cruiser and fire your laser to earn points.
This fun interactive ride in Tomorrowland features sharp spins, bright colors, and your favorite Toy Story characters as you become a Junior Space Ranger and help stop Zurg!
This is a great option that is perfect for the entire family.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth in EPCOT is a rainy day must-do. The attraction is slow-moving and interactive taking you back in time to explore the history of human communication.
The 16-minute, Omnimover-style ride features audio-animatronics and creative sets that bring the past, present, and future to life.
Afterwards, explore the latest in high-tech science with a fun interactive area where you can assemble a digital human body, drive a car-simulator, and even email the video you created while riding through Spaceship Earth.
Mission: SPACE
If dark, spinning, indoor thrill rides are your thing- this is the rainy day ride for you.
Blast off and hold on tight as you train as an astronaut and embark on a simulated NASA-style mission to Mars.
Need something a little more chill? No worries! The attraction also offers a gentle ride option so you can still experience the fun, but with less intensity.
Soarin’ Around the World
This is always one of my “go-to” rides at EPCOT, and it is perfect for a stormy day.
Travel around the world and be immersed in a 180-degree, 80-foot IMAX digital projection dome offering spectacular aerial footage, pleasant scents, and a moving score.
And right now guests can experience Soarin’ Over California for a limited time.
The best part is this is located inside the Land Pavilion in World Nature. So, after you experience Soarin’ you can hop on Living with the Land for another gentle ride, or enjoy a treat at Sunshine Seasons or the Garden Grill Restaurant.
Space Mountain
If you are looking for indoor thrills, check out Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom. Blast off into space in your personal rocket as you whirl past shooting stars, comets, and more!
This ride is all inside and in the dark making it a fun, fan-fave, and classic Disney attraction. It is a great indoor option for coaster fans.
“it’s a small world”
Looking for something gentle and ideal for the whole family? Check out “it’s a small world.”
Located at the Magic Kingdom in Fantasyland, hop aboard the “Happiest Cruise That Ever Sailed” during this gentle musical boat tour.
Colorful, whimsical, and fun- this indoor attraction is ideal for fans of all ages. The water ride is a gentle 10-minute tour featuring the iconic song we all know and love.
Pirates of the Caribbean
“Yo ho, Yo ho!” Is a pirate’s life for you? Find out on this Magic Kingdom indoor attraction.
Sail past Dead Man’s Cove, avoid cannon fire, and head back in time during this swashbuckling adventure.
And of course, be on the look out for Captain Jack Sparrow and hidden treasure.
