A Year After His Near-Fatal Accident, Jeremy Renner Takes Center Stage at the People’s Choice Awards
Just over a year after his near-fatal snow plow accident, Jeremy Renner made a surprise appearance in 2024 and received a hero’s welcome.

With his fellow MCU star Simu Liu hosting, Renner took center stage to introduce the first award of the night.
“Gotta say, it feels good to be back,” Renner, 53, told the audience after walking out to thunderous applause. “This year’s been a heck of a journey and I’m happy to be here with you, the fans. You guys are the best. You guys really brought this year. And you broke records. You turned movies into movements. We heard you all loud and clear, we heard you.”
A Touching Marvel Moment
One audience member who was especially happy to see Renner on stage was Tom Hiddleston, who gave his Avengers co-star a standing ovation. Later, after handing out the award for TV performance of the year, Renner stepped back and hugged Hiddleston.

On January 1, 2023, Renner was involved in a life-threatening accident after saving his nephew from being hit by a snowplow.
The actor was run over by his own Sno-Cat, which weighed at least 14,330 pounds. While he survived the incident, Renner was put in the hospital with blunt chest trauma and orthopedic injuries.
While Renner admits that his life will be a continual recovery, he is excited to return to work.

“I’m always game. I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure. I’ll be ready,” Renner said about returning to Marvel. “All those guys come to my bedside and they’ve been with me all along through this recovery, so…if they want me, they could have me. It would be something.”
Hopefully, Renner’s recovery will continue, and we will see the actor don his iconic Avengers uniform soon. In place of that, however, it is great to see Renner back on center stage.
