Respawn Entertainment is Developing a First-Person Mandalorian Game
The future of the Star Wars franchise may not lie in the hands of the Jedi or the Sith, but instead, the Mandalorian.
Hot on the heels of the news that Din Djarin and Grogu will be heading to the big screen for the first Star Wars feature film since 2019, comes a report that Respawn Entertainment is developing a first-person Mandalorian game.
The Life of a Bounty Hunter
According to Insider Gaming, Respawn Entertainment is developing a first-person game that will see the player take control of a Mandalorian bounty hunter.
Set during the age of the Galactic Empire, players will be tasked with capturing bounties (dead or alive) for cash rewards.
Sources have described the game as “very fast-paced,” with the dynamics set up to reward players who lean into the game’s style. For example, player’s health will regenerate based on successive kills as opposed to a time period lapsing.
According to Inside Gaming’s report, the new Mandalorian game will not be open-world and will instead have linear levels. Additionally, it is not clear which Mandalorian gamers will play as.
What we do know, however, is that players will be equipped with Mandalorian weapons, including jetpacks, grabbling, wrist rockets, and blasters.
When Will the New Game Be Released?
At this time, it is unclear when the new Mandalorian game will be released, based on how early in development it is, however, it will likely be a year or two.
