Samuel L. Jackson REALLY Wants to Return as Mace Windu
While prequel trilogy heroes like Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hayden Christensen’s Anakin Skywalker, and even Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon Jinn have recently made triumphant returns to the Star Wars Universe, we have not seen Samuel L. Jackson’s Mace Windu since the events of Revenge of Sith.
The last time we saw Mace, he had his hand sliced off by Anakin Skywalker, was fried by Emperor Palpatine’s Force lightning, and finally sent flying out a window into the Coruscant sky.
While it seemed to be implied that the famed Jedi had met his end, Star Wars fans have held out hope that Windu somehow survived.
Samuel L. Jackson Says Mace Windu is ALive
As it turns out, it is not only fans who believe that Mace Windu somehow survived, but Samuel L. Jackson himself is holding out hope that the Jedi is alive.
When asked by Empire about his character’s apparent death, Jackson responded with three simple words: ““HE’S NOT DEAD!!!”
When asked if he would like to see a Mace Windu-centric Disney+ series, Jackson was emphatic: “EVERYTHING YES!!” he responded.
Will Mace Windu Return?
While Samuel L. Jackson has never made it a secret that he would like to return as Mace Windu, his enthusiasm for another Mace story is exciting.
I should note, however, that Mace’s voice speaks to Rey in her final battle with the Emperor on Exegol. This could indicate that Windu is dead after all.
Hopefully, Lucasfilm sees both the fan demand for more Mace Windu stories and Jackson’s willingness to return and decides to bring the legendary Jedi back.
