VIDEO: ‘Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes’ Trailer Drops During Super Bowl
Amid the pomp and circumstance of last night’s Super Bowl, 20th Century Studios released a new trailer for the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.
Set several generations following Caesar’s Reign, the film finds Earth dominated by highly evolved apes. Humans still survive but have been relegated to living in the shadows.
When a new ape, Proximus Caesar, ascends to the throne, he quickly enslaves the other clans in a desperate search for the last traces of secret human technology.
Against this backdrop, a young ape named Mae sets out on a harrowing journey. Eventually, he begins to question everything he knows about the past.
Mae is eventually forced to make a series of choices that will define a future for apes and humans alike.
The Reign of Proximus Caesar
Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes will star Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy. The film will be the first Planet of the Apes entry since 2017’s War for the Planet of the Apes.
In the new trailer, audiences get a closer look at the rule of Proximus Caesar and the iron fist that controls his citizens.
As Mae comes to learn that humans are not evil after all and that the “elders did not tell us everything.” He begins to revolt against the tyrant’s rule.
