It Looks Like Pedro Pascal Has Been Cast as Mr. Fantastic in the MCU
One of the biggest mysteries shrouding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is who will portray the Fantastic Four in their upcoming MCU debut.
The First Family of Marvel is set to hit theaters next year, but until this point, who will be playing Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Johnny Storm has been kept under wraps.

Fantastic Four will be directed by Matt Shakman. The film will be based on a screenplay by Jeff Kaplan, Ian Springer, and Josh Friedman.
While Shakman has previously played coy about the film’s cast, stating that the roles would be announced at some point following last year’s Hollywood strikes, it appears that the cat is out of the bag.

Pedro Pascal Will Portray Mr. Fantastic
After months of speculation, it appears as if Pedro Pascal will officially be playing Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in the MCU.
The cat was let out of the bag when the official SAG-AFTRA Foundation website updated Pascal’s biography to state that he will begin production on Fantastic Four soon.

Since the original update, the information about Pascal being cast in Fantastic Four has been scrubbed. Still, the internet never forgets.
The SAG-AFTRA posting was subsequently seemingly confirmed by Shakman. The director posted the headline alongside a photoshopped picture of Pascal in uniform on his Instagram story.
A Full Cast Will Come
With Fantastic Four set to hit theaters on May 2, 2025, an official announcement from the studio should come soon.

Interestingly, this will not be the first time that Mr. Fantastic has appeared in the MCU.
John Krasinski portrayed a variant of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. His casting came following a fan campaign for the actor to play the character.

While Krasinski will not portray the mainline Reed Richards in Pedro Pascal, the Fantastic Four has not only found its Mr. Fantastic but the kind of star the film needed.
