Unique New Crystal Figurines Sparkle at Magic Kingdom
For guests looking to treat themselves to a dazzling new piece of shining treasure, there are few places as spectacular as Crystal Arts.
Located on Main Street, U.S.A. in the Magic Kingdom, this store is a captivating cave of wonders…where all the wonders are intricate artworks inspired by Disney classics.
Perfection!
While browsing through the treasures on a store visit this morning, our MickeyBlog reporter’s eyes were drawn by the twinkle of a new range of impressive figurines.
Aren’t they beautiful?
A delicate parade of colorful characters, each of these intricate figures depicts a different Disney favorite, each replicated in impressive colored crystal detail.
We can see Sorcerer Mickey, Stitch, Tinker Bell, Goofy, Pluto, and more…all looking as magically made as the next!
At first glance, it’s hard not to be impressed by these beautiful creations made by the Arribas Bros team here for Crystal Arts.
However, upon closer inspection, it’s revealed just how much specialist work and attention went into each figure, as described on a fascinating notice board atop the display counter…
Under the heading “The Art of Lost Wax Casting,” a short explanation is given by the store as to how these artworks were crafted. Interestingly, the man-made crystal was cast using a unique “de-waxing” technique, involving melting the glass down to liquid and pouring it into the mold.
The sign then tells us that these molds are made using wax sculptures encased in plaster, with the wax melted away.
This process gives us these spectacularly unique figurines, each beautifully colored and crystal-clear. So cool!
If you’d like to own your own perfect piece of crystal artwork, each of these figurines can be purchased for $65 here in the Magic Kingdom. Which adorable and colorful character would you go for?
There’s never a shortage of sparkling amazements in this store, which we’d always recommend a visit to during a trip to the Magic Kingdom.
For instance, did you see this unbelievable crystal castle sculpture we saw being pieced together last year? We’re still so impressed by the artistry!
