A Pavilion Construction Update From EPCOT’s World Showcase
Morning, all, from the EPCOT World Showcase!
Right now, the hot Florida sun is shining down over the UK pavilion, where a range of construction activity seems to be pressing on nicely across the area’s buildings.
The current forecast for the actual UK is rain, rain, rain, (it’s always raining,) so it’s nice to see some blue skies lighting up the ongoing refurbishment in the EPCOT version of the UK!
So, what’s been going on?
Well, about a month ago, we reported that walls of scaffolding had been erected around some of the pretty buildings adjoining the pavilion’s gardens. While we couldn’t see for certain what work was underway, our eagle-eyed MickeyBlog reporters did notice a spot of paintwork going on, making us think that the bars were there to aid a general refresh on the scenery.
Now, it looks like a portion of this scaffolding has been removed, revealing a pristine brick building behind it.
There’s still quite a bit of the scaffolding left up however, but we’re hopeful this is an indication that the work is nearing completion, and the pavilion will once again hold that quaint, homely aesthetic we know and love!
Moving across the pavilion, our reporters today noticed that the ongoing bathroom work was also still underway.
Last week, we noticed that temporary hedges had been placed surrounding the long-closed UK pavilion restrooms, although newly installed signage was also visible at the site.
It looks like these bathrooms will be closed for a bit longer, but MickeyBlog will be keeping watch for any updates as the work continues.
In the meantime, guests may utilize the bathrooms located a little further around the World Showcase, near the Canada pavilion. Plus, there are plenty of other non-scaffolded pretty places for photos around the UK pavilion, which can still be enjoyed as-ever while this work is ongoing. Terrific!
