Marvel Characters Are Coming to Tokyo Disneyland For The First Time

For the first time ever, Marvel Studios characters will appear inside the Tokyo Disney Resort when Tokyo Disneyland’s new nighttime spectacular arrives on September 20, 2024.

For those who don’t know, Tokyo Disneyland is run by The Oriental Land Company, which licenses intellectual property from Disney.

The Oriental Land Company has traditionally been averse to adding characters from Marvel or Star Wars into the park, instead focusing on original Disney intellectual properties.

Even as Marvel and Star Wars have exploded in Disney’s American parks, Tokyo Disneyland has continued to eschew the popular characters.

Marvel Comes to Tokyo

Now, it appears that The Oriental Land Company is acquiescing.

While Disney has not revealed a ton of details about the upcoming show, they have said that there will be “pyrotechnics, lights and special effects bringing stories and characters from Disney Animation, Pixar and Marel friends to life on Cinderella Castle.”

The new show will be scored by Ron Colvard, who has previously worked on Disneyland Forever and World of Color — ONE.

A Cavalcade of Characters

In the corresponding concept art for the new nighttime spectacular, Iron Man and Captain Marvel join Woody, Buzz, Tinker Bell, Aladdin, Jasmine, Mary Poppins, WALL-E, Baymax, Dumbo, and more.
