A Man Used a 46-Year-Old Ticket To Get Into Disney World
Matthew Ables has gone viral on TikTok after using an almost 50-year-old ticket to gain access to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World.
The ticket in question was a 10 Adventures in Walt Disney World ticket book that granted guests access to the Magic Kingdom along with a series of attraction tickets.

Sold in the late 1970s, the ticket book initially cost $8.
According to Ables, the old Walt Disney World ticket book had been collecting dust in his family home since before he was born.
Ables Feared Disney Would Reject the Ticket
Unsure if the ticket would still be accepted despite its lack of expiration date. Arriving at the Magic Kingdom, he tentatively approached the ticket booth.
The Cast Member helping him stamped the ticket book “void” before disappearing. Ables’ consternation grew.
I was getting nervous there because she started aggressively stamping ‘void’ all over the ticket booklet and then left,” he said in the video.
Thankfully, however, the Cast Member returned with a more modern ticket that allowed Ables to enter the park.

“But she did come back with this yellow pass, which, supposedly, is good to get into the park,” Ables said
A Magical Ending
After entering the park, the Walt Disney World visitor learned that a ticket to the Magic Kingdom costs $164 that day.

Commenters on Ables TikTok were both amazed that the ticket still worked and awed by the low price of the old ticket.
“As a former vacation planner — this is what we trained for and most of us never got to do. You made her day,” one user commented.
“$8 in 1978 is worth about $40 in today’s value. It’s crazy how much they keep increasing prices,” another person wrote.
While there is no parrel between a ticket book and today’s admission that allows you to experience any attraction, the fact that Disney honored the ticket and Ables got to visit the Magic Kingdom is a very cool story.
