Brrr! It is a chilly day in Central Florida and if you are lucky enough to be visiting Disney World today you will want to grab an extra layer to stay warm. It is sunny and beautiful…but it is definitely windy and brisk.
Walt Disney World is experiencing some cold temperatures this week and the chilly weather may affect your Disney vacation plans.
If you had plans to hit Disney’s Blizzard Beach you will want to update your theme park itinerary.
Cold weather is closing Disney’s Blizzard Beach today and multiple days this week!
Cold Weather Closings
According to Walt Disney’s World operational calendar, Blizzard Beach is closed today (January 17th,) and additionally closed January 18th, 20th, and 21st.
At this time, the park is scheduled to open Friday, January 19th.
Though the park boasts “frosty fun for the whole family”, the phrase took on a whole new meaning as the Orlando area woke to temperatures in the low 40s and a wind chill advisory.
The temps will potentially reach a high of 60°, but not until later in the afternoon.
A quick look at the rest of the week shows the weather with temperatures starting in the 40s and 50s and reaching upper 60s and low 70s throughout the day.
The rest of the week also shows cloud coverage and potential rainstorms.
Bring a coat or an extra layer of warmth if you are visiting the parks today or the next few days.
And be sure to check your favorite weather app and Walt Disney World’s operations page for the most updated information to help you plan accordingly.
